先月7日久々にLACMA(ロサンゼルス郡立美術館)に行きました。毎月第一フル週末は、B of A (バンクオブアメリカ)発行のクレジットカードかATMカードを掲示すると入場無料です。全米に126箇所そういう美術館・博物館があります。
"LACMA--Free Admission": I went there last month, August 7th, 2010, and took advantage of ""Free museum admission with Bank of America Credit Card or ATM Debit Card". Bank of America has that special on the first full weekend every month at 126 participating museums in USA.

埴輪、彫刻、紀元前出土のギリシャの壷、江戸時代の屏風など、いろいろあります。ほんのさわりだけ紹介しました。

LAエンジェルスの松井秀喜選手が現地時間8月30日、11日ぶりにホームラン打ちました。昨日9月1日もマリナーズ戦でホームランを打ったとか。松井秀喜選手がホームランを打った翌日は、トーレンスの『マツイレストラン』で通常＄12.25のゴジラ丼が＄5.50です。今日9月2日それが食べれます。
"GoZilla Bowl Special at Matsui Restaurant": The "Matsui Restaurant" in Torrance has a sale. "GoZilla Bowl" regulary $12.25 will be $5.50 all day next day when Hideki Matsui of LA Anaheim Angeles hit a home run. Matsui hit a home run on August 30, 2010 for the first time in 11 days, and yesterday, September 1, 2010 against Seattle Mariners. So, it will be served at $5.50 today, September 2, 2010.

海老天大7本が立てたられ、茄子、カボチャ、人参、さつま芋、ヤムポテトの天ぷらが隠れてます。それに味噌汁と冷たい麦茶付き。このボリュームで＄5.50はお得です！
There are 7 large Shrimp Tempura standing up, and Eggplant, Pumpkin, Carrot, Sweet Potato, and Yam Potato tempura's were hiding in them over Rice. It's served with Miso Soup and cold Barley tea. It's HUGE and a great price for the volume!
午後8時10分ごろ名前を入れ、近くのレンタルDVDショップに歩いて行って20分後に戻ると、すでに名前を呼ばれたあとで、飛ばされてました。それから10分待って席に着けました。
We signed up on the sheet at 8:10 pm and walked to a rental DVD shop near-by. When we came back 20 minutes later, our name was already called and skipped. We waited another 10 minutes to be seated.
レストラン「松井」のオーナーは、松井秀喜選手の大ファン。彼が高校3年生の時、夏の甲子園大会後日米親善野球大会でロスに来た時お世話したのが縁とか。18年来のファン。店名も「松井」にし、松井がエンジェルスに移籍後「松井ゴジラ丼$5.50スペシャル」を始めたそうです。
今年もその日米親善高校野球大会がロサンゼルスで9月2日、4日から6日に行われるそう。
The restaurant owner is a big fan of Hideki Matsui. Hideki Matsui played at Koshien High School championship for the summer when he was 17 or 18 years old. The star players get invited to play at Japan-USA High School Friendship Baseball games held in New York and Los Angeles every year in beginning of September. Hideki Matsui was one of the high school star players and stayed at Matsui's owner's house for a few days. Since then, the owner became a fan of Hideki Matsui. So, he named his restaurant, "Matsui", and he started "Matsui Gozilla-don $5.50 Special" after Hideki Matsui moved to LA Anaheim Angeles for this season.
This year USA-Japan High School Baseball Games will be held in Los Angeles on September 2, 4th thourgh 6th, 2010.

『串揚げダイニングほろん』が『小町』だったところに昨年11月オープン！ニジヤマーケット・トーレンス店前にあります。お昼のとんこつラーメンが、消費税とチップ混みで＄６です。
"Kushiage Dining HORON" opened on Nov. 19, 2009 where "Komachi" used to be located in front of Nijiya Market Torrance store. Their Lunch Special Tonkotsu Ramen is $6 including sales tax and tips.
ランチの値段は、9.75％の消費税とチップ込みです。

Ｂのとんこつラーメンと明太子丼にしました。
もやしとキャベツが大量に載り、麺は中太まっすぐ。ちゃんぽんのような食感と味でしたが、具が減ったころ、豚骨スープの油とこくのある味わいが口に残ります。背油とガーリックオイルを混ぜたまろやかさです。なかなかしっかりした豚骨スープのお味でした。
I ordered B.Tonkotsu Ramen & Mentaiko Bowl.
Lots of Bean Sprouts and Cabbage were poured on top of it. The noodle is medium thick straight. First I thought it tastes like "Champon Noodle". As I finished eating veggies, it tasted more and more Tonkotsu Ramen with oil and flavor of Pork Bone Soup. It's mild and smooth with Back Rib Oil and Garlic Oil. It was true and outstanding Tonkotsu (Pork Bone) Soup.

トーレンス市南西の『Honda』に先週夜お鮨を食べに行きました。去年オーナーが変わってから、初めてでした。水曜夜7時半ごろ。満席。30分待つ間メニューを見て、シェフおまかせ鮨8個$17にしました。
"Honda Sushi": We went there to eat Sushi dinner last week. It was my first visit after the owner changed last year. It was full house around 7:30 pm on a weekday. We looked at the menu while we waited for 30 minutes to be seated, and I ordered "Chef's Special Choice Sushi, 8 pcs" at $17.

They served Chawanmushi (Steamed Egg Soup) and Salad first. Later, Nameko Mushroom Miso Soup was served. They also have regular Miso Soup. Price was right and it had varieties, and it tasted great, too.

Fresh Oysters from Seattle are $1 each. Cheap! Other American customers were eating, so we ordered them.
1人1個ずつ生牡蠣を注文。広島出身のAさんが舌鼓を打ち、『これ立派な牡蠣！』と太鼓判。
We ordered 1 each, total 3 pieces of Oysters. Friend A from Hiroshima loved that Oyster and said, "This is an outstanding Oyster!".

There is a Sushi Bar as you enter the restaurant and a dining room on the left. They have 3 TV screens and keep showing sports channels. 90% of customers are American and Japanese American. Many customers finished eating and left around 9 pm.

"Honda Sushi": We went there to eat Sushi dinner last week. It was my first visit after the owner changed last year. It was full house around 7:30 pm on a weekday. We looked at the menu while we waited for 30 minutes to be seated, and I ordered "Chef's Special Choice Sushi, 8 pcs" at $17.

天然硫黄温泉再訪。レイクエルシノアにある『ハウス・オブ・シロアム』で先週末一泊しました。ロサンゼルスからもサンディエゴからも車で1時間半強の距離。100年以上前からの温泉町です。
"House of Siloam"-Natural Hot Spring: We re-visited there for a night last weekend. It's in Lake Elsinore, about 90 minutes drive from both Los Angeles and San Diego. It's an old town developed around the natural sulfur hot spring more than 100 years ago.
高速91番を東にひたすら走り高速15番を南下し"Main Street"で降りてすぐ。今年冷夏のロス海辺から炎天下砂漠へ着きました。午後3時過ぎの気温は100度Ｆ(38℃)でした。最高気温18℃前後のロス海辺とは大違いでした。
We drove 91 Fwy East for an hour and drove 15 Fwy South, and got off at "Main Street". It was right there. in Los Angeles coastal area, it's been cool this Summer with high around 68F. We went from Cool beach to sizzling Hot desert! It was 100 F (38 C) degree at 3 pm.
屋外温泉のそばには冷水プール、バーベキュー、ピクニック施設もあります。
Next to Outside Hotspring jacuzzi, there are Cold Swimming Pool, BBQ equipments, and Picnic facility.
屋外に２つ温泉浴槽があります。手前と奥の屋根と囲いつきのもの。お湯の温度は摂氏43度（華氏93度）。天然硫黄やミネラルが豊富に含まれるお湯です。濡れたまま歩くとつるっとすべりやすいです。
There are 2 outdoor whirlpools. One in the front and another in the back with a roof and walls. The hotspring water temperature is 93 F (43C). The hot springs water contains sulfur and iron with various other minerals. It's slippery to walk with your wet feet.
硫黄には解毒作用と皮膚をなめらかにする働きがあり、ミネラル成分は薬理作用を高めて体調を改善します。温泉の浮力効果は肥満、腰痛、関節炎に特に効果的です。
天然硫黄の効果で肌も髪もきれいになりました。石鹸いりません。シャンプー少しとコンディショナーをほんの少しつけるぐらいでいいそう。シャンプーや石鹸はシャワー室や部屋に置いてあります。
Our skin and hair got very smooth due to the sulfur natural hot spring water. You don't need soap nor shampoo. You need just little bit of hair conditioner.
Sulfur is known to help smooth skin and iron is helpful in cases of anemia. Many minerals are believed to help accelerate metabolism, which could lead to weight loss. The minerals in the hot spring water create a buoyant force which can relieve back pain, arthritis and even help prevent obesity. They can help relax tired, tense muscles and soothe achy joints.
屋外ジャクジの側に女性用シャワールームが新築されてました。日本の温泉の洗い場みたいです。
They newly constructed Shower Room for Ladies at the Outside hot spring tubs. Soaps, Shampoos, and Conditioners are placed. It looks like washing area at Japanese Onsen Hot springs.
手前側の部屋には家族用で肩まで浸かれる日本式お風呂と台所がありました。
バスルームも手前の洗面所も温泉の湯がでます。
Each private room includes a kitchen and Japanese style bathtub. You can enjoy a pure natural hot spring in the guest room, too. Those private rooms are located near the parking lot. The group rooms have 4 double size beds and can accommodate up to eight people.
到着した日の夕飯は、ゆっくり外と中の温泉でリラックスし、台所でご飯炊いて簡単に食べました。
部屋も前回よりきれいにしてありました。
無料ネットWiFiあり！前回はなかったので、嬉しい発見でした。
The night we arrived we cooked Steamed Rice and ate our dinner there after soaking in Hot springs outside and inside. Rooms were fixed well and got cleaner than last time.
There is a free WiFi Internet! They did not have it last time, so it was a nice surprise.
流し、ガスストーブ、冷蔵庫、電子レンジ、ダイニングテーブルと揃ってました。広いです。
There are Gas Stove, Refrigerator, Mcrowave Oven, and Dining table in the kitchen. It's roomy.
日本式お風呂。かなり深いのでお湯を貯めるのに25分かかりました。

I enjoyed outside Hot spring jacuzzi many times.
宿泊せず温泉に入る場合は1人$20です。ご夫婦で経営。旦那さんは日本人の牧師さん。毎週日曜朝9時半から11時まで礼拝があります。この礼拝に出ると温泉代が無料とか！？ 奥さんは日本語も話せる大阪出身の在日韓国系の方です。
Taking a hot spring bath without reserving a room is $20 per person. A couple runs this hotspring retreat center. The husband is a Japanese church minister. There is a Christian chapel service every Sunday from 9:30 am to 11 am. I heard the hot spring bath fee will be free, if you attend the chapel service!? The wife seems to be Korean Japanese from Osaka who can speak Japanese and English.
食事施設はないけれど、1－2ブロックの距離にメキシコ料理、イタリア料理、ステーキ屋、カフェなどがあります。
There is no restaurant at the facility, but there are Mexican, Italian, and American restaurants just a few blocks away.

Another Japanese American couple who speak English and Japanese seems to be partners. This natural hot spring is so pure. The bath-towels got very clean and white without using any detergents. Our skin gets very clean right away, too.
