7月4日独立記念日、今年もトーレンス市主催ウイルソンパークの花火大会を観に行きました。翌日これが同市主催最後の花火大会だったと知りました。30年間続いた花火大会も予算不足には勝てませんでした。 "Final Fireworks@Wilson Park": On Independence Day, 4th of July, 2010, I went to Wilson Park, Torrance, CA to see the Fireworks show once again this year. Next day I realized it was the last Fireworks show held by city of Torrance. It was the 30 year tradition, but due to the budget cut, it was decided to discontinue.

公園横駐車場に前日から多くのキャンピングカーが停泊し、バーベキューを楽しみながら花火大会を待ってました。毎年7月4日は午前11時ごろから、コンサート、食べ物屋台、玩具などいろいろ楽しめました。 Several RV (Recreational Vehicles) stayed at the parking lot of the park from the previous day and waited for the Fireworks show by doing BBQ every year. At the park, there were concerts, food vendors, toys, games, etc. to enjoy from around 11 am on 4th of July.
In city of Torrance, there are Toyota Motor, Honda Motor, Yakuruto, etc., many Japanese corporate buildings. I hope they will hold a Fireworks show again in Torrance near future.
Compared to Torrance, the Fireworks show at city of Lawndale was the most lavish one in the history this year.....(Click here) There is no Photo Enforced traffic camera in Torrance. Near by cities, such as Gardena, Lawndale, and Hawthorne, have Photo Enforced traffic cameras and generating surplus revenue from the traffic ticket revenue from those cameras. 次のブログにこの交通違反監視カメラのことを書きます。 I will write about Photo Enforced traffic cameras (Red Light Camera) on my next blog.
